Gottfried Helnwein's image displays a close-up shot of a woman's face with a miniature male scaling her nose with a rope. I think the image is depicting the idea that the man is attempting to find out more about the girl since it shows him climbing/exploring. I believe the photographer is trying to show how the man is trying to learn about the girl and understand her, but there's so much to find out. It is an artistic image and has been photoshopped. To me, the image means learning about someone important in your life and trying to understand them for who they are.
Since the man scaling the face is much smaller in comparison to the woman, it can be assumed that the woman is interesting to the man- there's is so much about her to learn and understand.
